Core deposits and returns
Some rebuildable engines and transmissions may be sold on an exchange basis with a core deposit. This policy applies only when a core deposit is shown on the product page or your order. If no core deposit is listed, you do not need to return your old unit.
1. 45-day core return window
Return your original core within 45 days of delivery of your replacement unit to receive a full refund of the core deposit.
2. Acceptable core condition
- Same type: the core must be the same displacement and configuration as the unit purchased.
- No external damage: the block, cylinder head or transmission case must not have holes, missing pieces or collision cracks.
- Fully drained: all oil, coolant and transmission fluid must be drained. Carriers refuse leaking shipments.
- Packaging: strap the core securely to the pallet your replacement unit was delivered on.
3. Return shipping and refund
Email contact@eliteautosinc.ca to request a prepaid core return bill of lading. Once the core is received and inspected, the deposit is refunded in Canadian dollars within 5 business days.
